The themes in my paintings are not intended to report visual accuracy nor to make grandiose statements or convey obscure abstractions. My attempt is rather to capture a humble moment and by celebrating the beauty in what might appear ordinary, I also strive to evoke a certain mystique, invite the viewer to feel the energy of a mood and engage a sense of hope. Like music, painting is for me an emotional language that is uniquely expressive and direct; moreover, it is a privileged opportunity to reach a rare vision of freedom and serenity when all turbulent times can be suspended. In the Boston area my work has been exhibited regularly at the Kaji Aso Studio, the Prudential Center, International Place, at the St. George Gallery on Newbury Street and at the Arts Affair in Quincy. I also appeared as a guest artist on Glen Williams’ television show “It’s All about Arts”.
